September 24 is shaping up to be an historic day for the peace movement and, hopefully as well, one that will be a turning point with regards to Coalition policy in
Iraq. On September 24 the United for Peace and Justice (UFPJ) and International A.N.S.W.E.R. coalitions, with their hundreds of participant groups, will beholding a joint rally and march in Washington D.C., followed by separate events by both groups. It is hoped that this united effort will create the largest gathering of people for peace in the history of the country - a massive throng that U.S. leaders and the media cannot ignore, and of which the world will sit up and take note.

People for peace are demanding to be heard and September 24 is that chance.
OUR STRENGTH WILL BE IN OUR NUMBERS!

PEACE PLEASE is putting its full support behind the rally and march, and hopes that everyone who can find a way to get to Washington D.C. will come and join in. Please know that numerous transportation options are available. The Louisiana Activist Network has organized a "Peace Train" that will leave New Orleans on September 22 and pick up folks at various stops in Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, South and North Carolina and Virginia before reaching Washington D.C. to join the rally on the 24th. As well, buses are being organized by UFPJ, A.N.S.W.E.R. and their member groups, and information can be found about these on their respective websites along with ride sharing opportunities from various points in the U.S. The word is that people will be traveling in from all 50 states, from Canada, and from numerous other countries.

If you need any reminder as to why this event is important, bear in mind the deaths of nearly 2,000 Coalition soldiers and an estimated 100,000 plus Iraqi citizens, as well as the recent bombing casualties in London and Egypt. One message must be heard loud and clear: whether from war or terror, the killing has to stop.
